147 Peterborough

Barnwell Manor, on the estate of The Duke of Gloucester, who no longer lives here. This MCC CL is VERY basic. The village is close by and has some interesting architecture and a nice old pub.

We used hard standing next to the barn, rather the field CL as shown below

146 Near Bristol

Stoneswood Farm MCC CL. One of a trilogy of family run CCC & CC CL's. It was a handy location; dogs barking and close to Bristol Airport flight path but only £10 and the toilet was nice and clean

145 Mevagissy

Another privately run C/P which encourages M/Hs to overnight. We paid £10 for a day, overnight and next morning. Good value, Mevagissy was a delight and a must go again. They tuck the M/Hs in a quiet corner of the C/P.

144 St Ives (Cornwall)

St Ives is a very interesting place to visit; full of art galleries and other intersting shops and sights. We could only find a relatively expensive privately run CS for our stay. Nice views, pitches a little sloping but excellent toilets.

143 Tintagel

An excellent place, many privately owned CPs which encourage M/Hs to overnight. Clever people, good source of revenue and planty of visitors. Otherwise Cornwall was not M/H friendly in the car parks
Tintagel is a good spot, lots of nice walks and scenary; could have spent longer

142 Minehead

We were advised that non height restricted parking was available at the Car Park next to the FC.
Standard Council signage did not have any M/H specific restrictions but as the place looked a bit grotty we gave Minehead a miss

141 Hele Bay

Above Hele Bay and outside of Ilfracombe, this nice off road parking spot, whilst not level had some great views over the coast line

140 Bideford

Officially sanctioned o/nites at Bideford. Well done Bideford! We had a nice time and spent a fortune. The river estuary seemed full of run down ships but the town was nice and the parking also handy for a day trip to Clovelly

139 Dunster

Just outside Minehead is Dunster mediaeval village. The car park looks ideal and no restrictive signs. £4.70 all day

138 Weston Super Mare

We read on an internet site that M/Hs could overnight on the coach HGV part of the Cpark just outside town. However, whilst the signs didnt have any exclusions the attendent, who was patrolling regularly told us that o/nites were not permitted.
Shame as Weston s Mare lost out on our custom for the day and evening.

137 Chepstowe Castle

Chepstowe Castle car park, next to Torist Info and opposite the Town's very interesting museum. Overnighting is tolerated. Cost £3-50 for 24 hours.
We also used the Lesuire centre for a shower, cost £2.50 each

136 Chepstowe

Just outside Cheptowe through the large army camp is the Old Ferry Crossing P/H. Very nice meal, albeit on a quiet night. Water and Elsan available abd a great location. This is a Pub-stop.

135 Abingdon

At the back where the coaches park and HGVs overnight, M/Hs can park for £7.50 with the council's prior permission.
It's well worth it as Abingdon is a nice place to visit and we could have spent longer than a day.

134 Colchester CL

MCC CL 10 mins cycle ride from Colcester.
Basic but adequate. Interesting way of financing the laundry.

133 Neward Riverside

One of our regular stopovers. Excellent walks & jogs around marina and fishing ponds. The river had abated, the rowers were out, the daffodils up. Excellent.
